Today’s WIP Wednesday is all about giving you an overview of how my upcoming dystopian romance trilogy is structured—because it’s going to be a little different.
One of my favorite things about the romance genre, aside from the love stories, is interconnected series. You know the ones—each book introduces a new protagonist and romance, but they’re all set in the same world. You get to see familiar faces pop up as side characters while exploring new relationships.
For The Chains of Conformity trilogy, I wanted to take that interconnected series concept and bring it into the dystopian romance genre.
Each book in the trilogy will follow a new couple, but they’ll all exist in the same dystopian world. While the romances will stand alone, the overarching dystopian elements will tie the series together. This means you can read the books in order, out of order, or as standalones—it’s totally up to you!
I can’t wait to share more about this world and the characters who live in it. Stay tuned, because next week I’ll share more about the dystopian society at the heart of the series!
